Dimplex’s new patio heater creates the perfect garden atmosphere
Electric heating expert Dimplex has introduced the latest addition to its outdoor heating solutions. Launched in June the new Dimplex Patio Heater with its 360° directional heat output, comes fully equipped with a built-in wireless speaker, making it a perfect choice for those who wish to make the most of their outdoor garden space.
Designed to help extend outdoor enjoyment when the sun goes down, the Dimplex Patio Heater has an LED 16 colour-changing ambient light. Select from strobe, flash or fade to perfectly fit the mood, all easily operated via a remote control. The wireless speaker allows music to be played directly from a mobile phone while the 1.5kW of heat is delivered in a 360° direction, ensuring everyone stays warm whilst enjoying the music.
Boasting a weather resistant matt black aluminium construction and an extra-long 1.8m cable, the heater will look stylish positioned anywhere on the patio. An IP55 rating means it will be safe should there be an unexpected rain shower and the product comes complete with an outdoor rain cover for easy storage at the end of the night. What’s more, the patio heater is perfect for family homes with young children and pets as a safety tilt feature means it will completely shut off should it accidently get knocked over.
The product complies with the European Safety Standards EN60335:2-30 and the European Standard Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)EN55014:1, EN55014:2, EN61000:3-2 and EN61000:3-3 which cover the essential requirements of EMC Directive 2014/30/EU and the LVDDirective 2014/35/EU.

General
This heater is a 1,500 W radiant patio heater, using ahalogen heating element, with light. Site the heater outsideor in a large open area, it is not intended as a room heater,and well away from any obstructions. It is shown assembledin Fig 1, where the power switches are shown locatedbeneath the grille. One dark point may exist on the surfaceof the heating element during the first few minutes after it isturned on. This is normal and will not affect the performanceof the unit.
Assembly instructions
Unpack the heater making sure that all the items arepresent, that there are no components left in the box andthat the heater head is free from any packing material. Theheater must be handled with care to avoid any damage.Do not connect the heater to electrical supply if any of thecomponents or the power cord is damaged in any way.
Method
Ensure you have removed all packing materials and thenfix the base to the heater pole using the 3 pcs M8 * 25 mmscrews provided. Tighten screws by hand using the allenkey provided.
Operation
NB: Before connecting/operating the appliance pleaseensure that you remove the protective cover (and storeit away carefully). Product must never be operated withthe protective cover fitted.Connect the power cord to a 13 amp supply that is locatedin a safe dry area. The switches on the heater are used tocontrol the operation of the element and of the light andspeaker on the top of the heater.
The switch on the left turns on and off the light and thespeaker. The switch on the right turns on and off theelement. The unit must be securely grounded duringoperation.Although the heater is shower proof, do not use whenraining or in wet conditions. Always disconnect the powercord from the electrical supply when the patio heater is notin use, you should also cover it with the protective coverprovided when not in use.
NB: You must allow the product to cool downcompletely after use before fitting the protective cover.
Remote
This appliance is supplied with a remote that can be usedto control the light at the top of the column.Please remove the plastic battery insulation sheet beforeusing the remote.
The battery is a Lithium Cell type CR2025.The remote can turn the light on/off, change thebrightness, the colour and mode of operation, see belowbutton operation instructions.
Speaker operation
Pair your device with the speaker which will identify itselfas 'Sun & Sound'.The speaker controls are on the top of the unit, see belowoperating control instructions.
Warnings & instructions
The instruction leaflet belongs to the applianceand must be kept in a safe place. If changingowners, the leaflet must be surrendered to thenew owner.DO NOT use the heater where gas, petrol, paintor other inflammable goods are stored. Do not use the heater in the immediatesurroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimmingpool. Do not place the heater directly below a fixedsocket outlet.
Warning: In order to avoid overheating, do notcover the heater. Do not place the unit close to curtains and/orother flammable objects as a risk of fire exists.
Important: The heater must be placed aminimum of 1 metre from the wall. The socket-outlet must be accessible at all times to enable the mains plug to be disconnected as quickly as possible. Do not cover the heater with anything during operation and for a short time after it is shut downas a risk of fire exists.
NB: Before connecting or operating theappliance please ensure that you remove theprotective cover. The product must never beoperated with the protective cover fitted. Do not use this heater with a programmer,timer, separate remote-control system or anyother device that switches the heater onautomatically, since a fire risk exists if the heateris covered or positioned incorrectly. Do not operate the heater with the mains leadwrapped around the unit. Do not push any items through, obstruct orcover the grille or the heater head.
Warning: In order to avoid a hazard due toinadvertent resetting of the thermal cut-out, thisappliance must not be supplied through anexternal switching device, such as a timer, orconnected to a circuit that is regularly switched onand off by the utility.
Important: If the mains lead of this applianceis damaged, it must be replaced by a qualifiedperson in order to avoid a hazard.This appliance can be used by children aged from8 years and above and persons with reducedphysical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack ofexperience or knowledge if they have been givensupervision or instruction concerning the use ofthe appliance in a safe way and understand thehazards involved. Children shall not play with theappliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shallnot be made by children without supervision. Children of less than 3 years should be kept awayunless continuously supervised. Particular attention has to be given wherechildren and vulnerable people are present.Switch off and allow to cool down for a sufficienttime before attempting to move, carry or cleanthe appliance, hot surfaces so potential dangerof burns if handled during operation or before ithas cooled down fully.Avoid use of an extension cord because theextension cord may overheat and cause risk offire.DO NOT move the heater when connected to anelectrical supply and always wait for it to cooldown before storing away.The heater should always be used on a stable,flat horizontal surface where all the feet on thebase are in contact with the floor.DO NOT use this heater as a cloth/towel drier, asauna heater, a room heater or in a place ofanimal propagating and raising.The heater is intended for outdoor domestic useonly. It is not safe to use on a building site,greenhouse, barn or stable especially whereflammable dust or fumes may be present.Handle with care and avoid subjecting theheater to major vibrations or heavy impacts asthis may damage the product and in particularthe element.
