Air Fryer Christmas Recipe Guide

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas, but that doesn’t mean that Christmas has to be the same as every other year. Air fryers are one of the most popular kitchen appliances because they cook even the unhealthiest of foods in the healthiest ways. This year, we recognise that air fryers have become a staple in most modern kitchens, and hey, maybe you will want to use it to create something delicious and healthy this Christmas. Below, we will give you some different air fryer recipes that you can wow your guests with this Christmas.

Air Fryer Turkey Croquettes

You are bound to have a little leftover turkey after Christmas dinner, but instead of using it all on sandwiches, why not use some of it to create delicious air fryer turkey croquettes? To create them, you'll need leftover mashed potato, cheese, turkey, and your chosen seasonings.

  • Preheat your air fryer to 180 degrees.
  • Whisk egg and a teaspoon of water in one bowl. Empty breadcrumbs into another bowl.
  • Roll your turkey, mashed potato and cheese into a small ball.
  • Next, dip your potato and turkey balls into the egg mix and then into the crumbs.
  • Then, spray each croquette with one-cal oil and let the croquettes cook for 5 mins.
  • Turn and cook for another 5 mins for the perfect golden-brown crunch.

A perfect Christmas day or St.Stephen's day starter.

Air Fryer Cinnamon Almonds

A delicious Christmas treat, almonds are one of the tastiest snacks that you can have, so when roasted in an air fryer with some cinnamon, you can be sure that something special is about to happen. All you need is some almonds, egg whites, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and some cinnamon. Whisk up the mixture and coat your almonds. They will need about 25 minutes in the air fryer.

Sweet and Spicy Air Fryer Meatballs

It would be wrong not to include a delicious main course dish that is a little different. This mixture of sweet and savoury goodness is perfect for any time of day, and because they are easy to prepare and take only 15 minutes to cook, they are a must-try for your new air fryer.

For the meatballs you'll need 190g of oats,

2 large eggs, 1 tin of evaporated milk (about 250ml),

1tbst of dried onion,

1tsp of salt, garlic powder, cumin, and honey, 1/2 tsp of pepper, 1kg of lean beef mince.

For the sauce you'll need 80g of brown sugar, honey, orange marmalade, 1 tbsp of cornflour to thicken the sauce (you can always add more if you like a thicker consistency), 2 tbsp of soy sauce and 1-2 tsp of hot sauce if you want to add an extra kick.

  • Combine your ingredients, mix well and shape the meatballs.
  • Add a little one-calorie oil spray.
  • Cook them for 12-16 minutes, and shake them until they are lightly browned.
  • Add the sauce ingredients to a pan on medium heat. Cook until the cornflour starts to thicken the sauce. This should take about 6-10 minutes depending on how much cornflour has been added.
  • Drizzle the sauce over your meatballs and serve.

Why Use an Air Fryer?

There are several great reasons for using an air fryer, and if you have not got one in your kitchen, you are really missing out. Here are 3 reasons why you might want to switch to an air fryer to create great recipes this Christmas season.

  1. They allow for healthier cooking: This is an obvious one. Everyone worries about their shape around Christmas time, but with an air fryer, you can create delicious food that is low (or at least lower) in calories than the typical Christmas food that we might be used to.
  2. They are versatile: You could have guessed this based on the delicious recipes from above, but the humble air fryer is super versatile. With just one machine, you can create a snack, a starter, a main, and a dessert this Christmas.
  3. They are inexpensive: The ultimate beauty of an air fryer is the fact that they are really well-priced. Many air fryers on the market are priced between €80-150. Many of these are less expensive than a typical deep-fat fryer which is not as healthy and not nearly as versatile. They use much less electricity than a standard oven so you'll reduce your energy bills also. So you have nothing to lose in buying one. They bring unbeatable value to your kitchen.
