Job Description
· Plan, Develop, Organise, Direct and Manage:
− The annual budget for the warehouse and logistics operations.
− The implementation of warehouse health and safety, and security programs / activities.
− Warehouse operations policies and procedures. Communicate / inform warehouse staff.
− Profit improvement plans and change-management plans.
− Key performance indicators to measure and control the effectiveness of warehouse operations.
− Logistics service levels to all stores / Customers.
· Remain current with latest warehouse operations technology systems and procedures.
· Drive warehouse and logistics economics by developing and managing cost-reduction initiatives.
· Perform day-to-day administrative tasks, spend approvals and customer reports.
· Prepare or direct preparation of correspondence, reports, warehouse statistics, operations, and maintenance.
· Coach, train, manage, and appraise the performance of warehouse and management personnel.
· Mentor selected warehousing operations staff.
· Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships.
· Solve, negotiate, and address staff challenges.
· Confer with associated departments to review business development opportunities, financial imperatives / cost reduction opportunities, demands and forecasts.
Key Skills and Experience
· Minimum of five years’ senior managerial and progressive experience within a high-value environment / sector.
· Minimum of five years’ progressively responsible experience in warehouse or facility operations.
· Proven experience of warehouse management practices; direct supervisor reportage is essential.
· Proficiency and working knowledge of operations, supply chain and logistics.
· Warehouse systems experience is preferable.
· Management of transportation and carriage partners.
· Competency in stock control and inventory management.
· Commercially-astute with direct customer service experience.
· Strong commitment to leadership and people-management.
· Adaptable and flexible with a positive attitude and disposition.
